William LipkeAlamosa, COdr.william
I hold bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees in piano performance. For my undergraduate degree, I studied with a "grandstudent" of Franz Liszt, one of the greatest pianists in history. My masters and doctoral degrees are from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, one of the nation's leading music conservatories.
My early studies, from age six to sixteen, were with a graduate of the Royal College of Music in London. I later went back and learned how to teach from her. She specialized in taking students from beginner to advanced high school performers. She liked to give them a solid foundation, then follow through. I do the same.
I have taught piano successfully for over 20 years and emphasize natural technique. Although I primarily teach classical piano, many of my students also compose, improvise, and learn pop music and church music.
If you are interested, I will also include sight reading, improvisation, music theory, music history, harpsichord, and/or pipe organ.
