Graduate with Honors, Published Author, Editor, Proofreader

English has been my passion since I was eight years old. I took an extracurricular writing class in the third grade, which lead to me being published for the first time that same year. I followed that passion throughout my entire academic career, from AP English classes in high school to getting my Bachelor's degree in college. In college, I took every single English class that I could. If I had the choice between a random extracurricular credit or taking another English class, I chose the English class every single time. I maintained a stellar GPA throughout college, including being one of the first people to receive a perfect 100% grade in the university's grammar course. My free time outside of classes was also spent doing English related activities, whether it be reading a multitude of books or working at the school's literary magazine. When I worked at the school's literary magazine, I had three jobs. The first was to select the stories that would be featured in the magazine. I would also help to format these stories and arrange the magazine in a logical order. My final job was to participate in editing days that were over eight hours long. We would meticulously pour over each sentence on every page to ensure that there were no grammar mistakes. This required a vast knowledge of the most intricate and minute details of the English language - which I enjoyed immensely. I would love to impart my knowledge of grammar to others. It isn't just my skills that would make me a great English teacher or tutor, but my passion for the subject. I have dedicated my entire life to English and literature. I would love to share that passion and knowledge with others.

Italian Language Tutor, Middlebury College Graduate

I have spoken Italian with my father, who is a native speaker, since I was a young child. I have studied Italian for four years at the undergraduate level while attending Middlebury College, an institution renowned for its language programs. While at Middlebury, I also went to the Italian Language School, an 8-week program in which students take a handful of college courses in Italian and follow a language pledge that ensures that all communication is done in Italian for the length of the program. In terms of work experience, I have worked as a teaching assistant for a courses titled "Culinary History of Italy" (ITAL 1003). While at this position, it was my responsibility to read 15-25 responses each day, compile information from the responses into a half-page document for the professor, and to provide feedback on student's responses to generate ideas for in-class discussion. I have also worked as an Italian Research Assistant for the Center on Terrorism, Extremism, and Counterterrorism (CTEC) at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey. At this position, which was entirely remote, I worked with closely with the team at CTEC, graduate students studying Italian, and a Middlebury language professor. Our responsibilities entailed collecting and translating culturally sensitive documents from Italian into English and compiling said translations into research deliverables for Spectrum Labs, a startup AI company based in San Francisco. As I briefly mentioned, I am Italian-American, and I consider it to be an important part of my identity. Honing the Italian language has been essential in keeping in close communication with my family abroad.
