About
I'm from a rural town on the outskirts of Chicagoland and have lived there my whole life. growing up I liked learning about lots of different subjects, but history and politics came to dominate what I... learned about. In High school I took all Ap course in history and one in geography. After highschool I studied at Mchenry county college for 4 years and then moved on to finish my Bachelors at Elmhurst University. Naturally my Bachelor's degree is with a major in history and a minor in political science.
Part of the reason I have a passion for tutoring and want to help others comes from my own experiences as a student who needed it. My education ended with 3 consecutive semesters on the dean's list and nothing below a B for 3 years, but it did not start that way at all. In fact I was not a very good student at all throughout my youth. It was only in college that I was able to improve myself. I turned my academic career around through working smarter and harder than I had before. So not only do I know history but I know how it feels to be a frustrated student not making the progress you want. I had to learn to overcome this in many ways and tutoring is my chance to show what good organization and prioritization can do for them in school.
When not reading about history, politics, and current events I like playing video games, riding my bike, watching Chicago sports, and drawing. Although I am not an artist by trade, it has become one of my favorite things to do outside of work.read more
