This course includes but is not limited to: Reading, Writing, Grammar, Speaking, Annunciation, and English Practice as a Second Language.
As a first-generation student living in the United States, understanding the fundamentals of English was crucial. Throughout my years, I developed a passion for reading and writing as I am enthusiastic about analytical reading, interpreting forms of texts, engaging in writing to improve myself, and helping others with difficulties I have faced in the past.
Previously, I worked for Marco Learning as an Essay Grader. My duties focused on reviewing K-12 student essays, providing feedback and constructive criticism, and maintaining contact with teachers. I would include feedback that focuses on helping students develop their skills and learn to use feedback as a method of improvement and not as something negative.
Currently, I continue my work examining the English language through my job at my University (UTD) as it is an integral part of my duty. I examine methods of speaking, using that information to decipher emotions, ways of speaking, voice levels, and more attributes. Working at this job has helped me understand the struggles of practicing and understanding English. I understand the importance of helping with understanding formal/polite English, accent, annunciation, vocabulary, and more.
