Hello, my name is Joanne Todd Parks, but you can just call me Jo. In kindergarten I was pulled out of class one day and was taken to the library. When I arrived, I was asked to help this much older st... udent with math. Being the shyest kid in the world, I was not sure about the situation. Once I started helping him, teaching him, answering his questions; I became a total social butterfly. I was a volunteer tutor throughout high school and college. Then started freelance tutoring in 2011. My greatest success was an algebra student with a low 'D'. The student counted on his fingers and did not know his basic mathematical operations-plus, minus, multiply and divide. In three weeks, his transformation was unrecognizable. He had pulled his grade up to a 'B', counted on the number instead of his fingers, and had greatly improved his mental math skills with his basic mathematical operations.
