My first two years of college-level education were at Reynolds Community College, sometimes known as J. Sargent Reynolds. From Reynolds I have graduated with an associate's degree in social science with history credits coming from classes on prehistory, ancient civilizations, Rome, and the World Wars. In my free time I predominantly covered 20th century Europe and 20th century political history more broadly. My favorite series from that period would be Richard J. Evans' Third Reich trilogy. I transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University and then began extending my knowledge outside of the western sphere more extensively and rigorously, covering specifically South America and the Caribbean as well as basic human geography. Throughout all of this, my high school journalism and extracurricular journalism skills have been applied to my historical study to the benefit of history's greatest skill: critical thinking. I believe it is clear that I love being a student of history, and in my mind there's no better qualification to have when it comes to helping others discover their drive to learn history as well.
