Law Student with BA in American History

American History has been my passion forever, but my academic career in the field began 7 years ago and has continued ever since. Starting in Sayville High School, I was enrolled in every Honors and AP history class possible, and I received a 5 on the American History AP exam. I then went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in History with a minor in Psychology from the University of Alabama, where I graduated magna cum laude and with Honors. I specialized in colonial American History and my senior thesis received a national award from the Colonial Dames of America association which included a $500 grant. During my time at the University of Alabama, I was on the Pre-Law track which supplemented my studies in American History with constitutional and legal analyses of American historical topics. I now attend Brooklyn Law School where I plan to receive my JD. I help both my friends and siblings with every aspect of their academic careers, and have extensive training/experience in researching and writing historical papers. I understand the rigors of being a student, and understand that teachers may not provide tailored instruction for students who need a different form of instruction. I will use my knowledge of student psychology and my own personal experience to carefully craft lesson plans and give each of my students the tools they need to succeed on a case-by-case basis. I look forward to passing on my knowledge of American History to the younger generations.

Summa Cum Laude Graduate, Criminal Justice, Criminology, and International Studies

I am currently a Criminology and Justice graduate student at St. John’s University, recently graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice Forensic Psychology and a minor in International Studies. My wholehearted dedication to my education allowed me to complete my Bachelor of Science in three years rather than the traditional four, all while maintaining a GPA of 3.99 and ranking no.2 in the Collins College of Professional Studies Criminal Justice program. With aspirations for a future in data and intelligence analytics, maintaining academic excellence, quality research, community service, and social justice initiatives are my main priorities. I have now delved into the mental health care community as a hotline servicer for Mental Health Minnesota, where I am able to provide callers with emotional support, rational thinking, and resources local to them. More recently, I have begun sexual violence and prosecution research under Dr. Pugh of St. John’s University in order to access and analyze vital data, observe trends, and formulate policy recommendations to the major issues within sex crime reporting, prevention, and deterrence. The research thus far has involved heavy literary review as well as quantitative research methods using GIS and SPSS in order to understand the many concepts that fall under the branch of sexual violence, as well as how external factors play into such victimization. I hope to expand beyond domestic studies to engage with international populations and utilize global data to protect citizens. Due to my studies and experience, I now have extensive knowledge of criminal justice policies, criminal justice statistics and patterns, as well as research background involving victims and perpetrators on a domestic and international scale.

Experience Physics Tutor - PhD in Nuclear/Particle Physics.

I have extensive taught general Physics to students with no background in Mathematics using lucid demonstrations of simple concepts. Physics is an experimental science. A set of experiments to be followed just after the concepts learned in theory in a proper pedagogical order is mandatory for the course curriculum development. I try to create innovative and simple projects for understanding Physics without the use of very expensive equipment. For example, I assigned a project to my students to measure the pitch (spacing) of the data tracks on CD’s, using the diffraction pattern displayed by the CD. They were advised to use a monochromatic source of light – a laser pointer on the CD. So, it is not always essential to have extremely expensive equipment like a grating, a spectrometer etc. to understand simple concepts in physics. I also give daily life examples of how interference causes colors in thin films, wings of butterfly etc. Experimentation could also be based on just observing the physical world around you and I take up this as a challenge to make my students observe things and think about the physics behind it. Thus, experimentation based on observation is a great tool for teaching physics. I have Bachelors in Education from a reputed University in Calcutta, India which gives me specialized pedagogical training for this type of course curriculum. I had 12 years of teaching experience in this field in India and further enhanced my skill in the US while woking as a TA during my PhD from University of Kentucky. I successfully taught and tutored students in Physics in various mega cities in India (New Delhi, Mumbai and Calcutta) and in the US too.
