Joshua Kimbel
Lake City, MI

High School Music Lover, Entrepreneur

I have been playing the piano since I was five and I love music in general. I have also peroformed in my local dance studios productions for several years, with genres ranging from ballet and tap, to hip-hop and musical theatre. I would be an excellent choice as a piano tutor because of my deep passion for music, my ability to connect with students, and my commitment to helping them grow both technically and creatively. My musical insight allows me to break down complex concepts in a way that makes learning enjoyable and rewarding, whether the student is a complete beginner or looking to refine advanced skills. I prioritize not only technical proficiency but also musical expression, ensuring students understand how to play with feeling and artistry. My teaching approach is personalized, focusing on the unique goals and strengths of each student while building a solid foundation in music theory, technique, and performance confidence. Beyond my musical skills, I bring a strong sense of mentorship and encouragement to my lessons. I aim to create a positive and inspiring environment where students feel motivated to learn and explore their potential. My experience with business and leadership also equips me to teach students valuable skills like goal-setting, self-discipline, and time management—essential qualities for success in both music and life. Choosing me as a piano tutor means learning from someone who values personal growth, creativity, and a genuine love for music, all while having fun along the way

Liza Wu, NYC Professional Pianist/Vocal Coach/Performer/Music Director/Instructor- happy to help!

Welcome! I love teaching, music, and all things piano related! I've taught successful piano students for over 25 years and would love the opportunity to help more people love piano playing. I'm happy to work with you to reach your goals within the time you have, in our busy daily lives. I have built a career as a professional pianist/keyboardist/cathedral organist in NYC, and have performed all over the city, country, and world, with many well known classical performers (pls see bio), and most recently in Europe this past summer. I've also worked with Broadway shows, touring throughout North America (Columbia Artists Theatricals), TV/Film (SAG-AFTRA), and with pop/rock stars (Sony Developmental Artists). I have worked with students from Barnard/Columbia, NYU, the Professional Performing Arts School (NYC), Diller-Quaile School of Music, and School for Strings (NYC), as well as Interlochen Arts Camp. Please join me! I'm happy to teach regular weekly sessions, or consult for contests, auditions, performances, contests, and other projects. My expertise is in teaching how to learn music quickly, fluidly, and efficiently, so that one can learn to read and present music easily, especially to be facile enough to work with others! I'm currently accepting new (young or young-at-heart), committed students until my schedule sets in February. Generally I schedule far in advance, and am happy to work with your schedule. I am flexible, so please do let me know what works for you, and we will figure it out. Thanks, and hope to see you soon!
