Lindsay EllerMount Holly, VTCreative Arts Mentor
I have a BA in Studio Arts, with a Drawing and Painting emphasis, and currently work as a professional abstract artist under the name, Linden Eller
As an educator, I have experience teaching a wide range of ages, from early childhood to adults. I taught as a full time preschool and kindergarten teacher in Japan from 2017 - 2018, and taught remotely for Bilin Academy, which primarily works with children in China integrating immersive English lessons with drawing. Most recently, from 2020 - 2023, I worked for a small art studio in Manhattan, teaching online kids, teens, and adults in drawing, painting, and mixed media. I write highly engaging curriculum, including social emotional learning components, art history aspects, specific art techniques and principles, and step by step projects. Lessons have a deep focus on encouraging each student’s unique voice, the creative process, and individualized one on one constructive feedback, including clear areas of praise, and suggestions to consider. In addition to teaching, I lead our whole team of instructors, guiding them through assessments, student concerns, and trainings for growth.
I now work as an independent teaching artist, both locally in Vermont, as well as remotely online.
I am fiercely passionate about promoting creativity, and am always seeking out meaningful ways to pass on my knowledge and skills. My teaching philosophy is to challenge students with design principals and techniques, while also encouraging them to playfully explore their own intuition and style.
