I have a master's degree from Auburn University in exercise science, with a concentration in exercise physiology. Furthermore, I have taken several years of doctoral-level study in this area which is... expected to culminate in a PhD in exercise physiology in 2025 from Springfield College. I have worked as an adjunct faculty member teaching exercise physiology, and I have also taught this material internationally and across a wide range of settings. I have worked with individuals and audiences of up to nearly 100, and just about everything in between. That includes tutoring in this subject area since 2012. Hi, I'm Geoff! I'm originally from south Louisiana (meaning I'm a Cajun, though my accent makes some people doubt that). I grew up there and did my first college degree before moving away for grad s... chool -- first at Auburn University in Alabama, then at the University of Texas at Austin, and now at Springfield College in Massachusetts. I'm currently working on a PhD in Exercise Physiology, and I expect to finish the degree sometime in 2025. I'm an exercise physiologist, but I have interests in a wide range of topics. In fact, my first major in college was physics, and I still study it. I also studied political science before ending up in the exercise science area, meaning I've added some liberal arts flair to my "harder" science studies. I love being well rounded, and I recommend that others resist putting themselves in a box! I have hobbies outside of school and work, too. I'm a lifelong video game and movie nut, and I have a head full of trivia to back it up. I also started martial arts in Louisiana, starting with taekwondo in early 2006. I currently have a 3rd degree black belt in that, and I'm also a brown belt in judo and have trained on and off in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and hapkido, so I've got a fun range of experiences! I love teaching and tutoring. Helping people to overcome learning challenges is one of the best feelings in the world, and I am always available to help friends and colleagues out when they have questions. Learning is one of life's greatest joys to me, so I always want to share the gift of "figuring it out" to others. No matter what job I'm doing, it's a safe bet that I spend some of it helping people to learn. I always encourage curiosity, and I believe we can take our work seriously without taking *ourselves* too seriously.
