Matthew OrigelMadrid, SpainFlute Teacher and Performer
I have been playing the flute for 10 years, and I recently graduated from University of California, Los Angeles, with my Bachelor's of Music in Flute Performance. I had the privilege with studying with one of the most acclaimed flutists in the world, Denis Bouriakov, the Principal Flute of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
I am currently pursuing my Master's of Music in Flute Performance at Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, one of Europe's leading musical institutions.
Throughout high school and college, I have held first-chair Principal Flute positions, have participated in competitions on regional, state, and national competitions, and won the San Diego Flute Guild National Collegiate competition in May of 2021.
In high school, I participated in local and all-state honor bands, earning the 2nd-highest piccolo seat in the state of California in 2018. I also have had the privilege of playing piccolo in the 2018 Rose Parade on New Year's Day with my high school marching band.
I am immensely passionate about all things flute. It would truly be an honor to help you or your child accomplish any flute-related goals, whether they be picking up the instrument and making a sound for the first time, preparing for an all-state recording, or competing in a local competition.
