Sabrina GrimbergCupertino, CAEducator, Linguist, and Spanish-Language Specialist
I am a native Spanish speaker born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. My elementary, middle-school, and high-school education was entirely in Spanish. After graduating with honors from a top high school focused in languages, I pursued a Licenciatura (somewhat like a Bachelor's + Master's Degree) at the University of Buenos Aires. My majors were Linguistics, Classics, and Literature. I was passionate about Linguistics and wanted to study abroad, so I applied to grad school in the U.S.. My hard work paid off and I was admitted to Stanford University, where I obtained an M.A. in Linguistics.
In addition to my background in Spanish and Linguistics, I have extensive teaching experience. I've tutored middle- and high-school students in Spanish Language and Literature in Buenos Aires and I've taught tons of undergraduate students at Stanford in courses offered by the Linguistics Department and the Spanish Language Program. My teaching approach revolves around my students: I foster an open and safe environment and invite students to share their goals, needs, and preferences, as well as any feedback they might have. I then use their comments to design instructional experiences that engage them while also aligning with the session's learning goals.
