Spanish was my first language, thus making me a knowledgeable native speaker and writer in Spanish. Even though I am fluent, I wanted to test my knowledge with formal Spanish by taking an advanced Spa... nish class in high school. My knowledge in Spanish exceeded the expectations of my high school teacher. My fluency in Spanish eventually earned me a California State Seal of Biliteracy on my high school diploma. Additionally, my passion for the knowledge of Spanish shines out in my community. It is truly my pleasure to help translate for a random stranger who is struggling to communicate their concerns and the servicer is unable to provide them with a Spanish translator. My hope with tutoring for Spanish is to ease these challenging barriers in our communities. I can truly understand the difficulties of learning a new language because with language comes the understanding of cultures as well. T... herefore, I am thankful that I am able to further pursue my passion in educating others in healthcare through the pursuit of my bachelor of science in nursing at California State University, Sacramento. I didn't have a mentor system that would help guide me through my high school career. Therefore, I decided to join a mentorship program in my senior year of high school through a program called the Biomedical Academy to become a mentor for lowerclassmen and middle schoolers. Additionally, it was an opportunity to open my doors to my passion in healthcare by joining the Middle School Leadership Conference through the Biomedical Academy as I was able to host lessons about mental health with my extensive research.
