Throughout all of my educational career, math was a strong subject of mine, and also one of my favorite. I love how challenging it is, but how easily I am able to use my critical thinking skills to wo... rk my way around math problems. I know that math can be difficult for students, but it can be treated as fun! As I reflect on my high school career, I was placed in advanced math classes than the average student. The highest math classes I took in high school is pre-calculus and AP statistics. I definitely practiced my math by talking out my math problems as if I am teaching it to others in order for me to understand it. T... herefore, I am thankful that I am able to further pursue my passion in educating others in healthcare through the pursuit of my bachelor of science in nursing at California State University, Sacramento. I didn't have a mentor system that would help guide me through my high school career. Therefore, I decided to join a mentorship program in my senior year of high school through a program called the Biomedical Academy to become a mentor for lowerclassmen and middle schoolers. Additionally, it was an opportunity to open my doors to my passion in healthcare by joining the Middle School Leadership Conference through the Biomedical Academy as I was able to host lessons about mental health with my extensive research.
