Judith ThirugnanamDallas, TXHuman Experience and Expression
As an architecture student, I regularly engage in sketching as a fundamental part of my design process. This includes technical drawing, perspective sketching, and conceptual sketching, all of which are essential skills in architecture.
I have also taken courses in watercolor sketching, screenplay and film, and creative writing. These classes have expanded my understanding of visual storytelling and artistic expression, enriching my ability to teach sketching from multiple perspectives.
I have experience teaching a range of subjects, including geography, human experience, and history, to students from 3rd to 9th grade. This teaching background has equipped me with the skills to explain complex concepts in an accessible and engaging way.
Additionally, I have tutored math and English to students aged 4-15 at Gideon Math and Reading. This diverse tutoring experience has taught me to tailor my instructional methods to suit different learning styles and age groups.
I founded my college's creative writing club, where I organize workshops and lead activities that foster creativity and artistic skills among members. This role demonstrates my commitment to promoting creative expression and my ability to lead and inspire others.
My education in architecture has provided me with a solid foundation in various sketching techniques, from precise technical drawings to freehand artistic sketches. This diverse skill set allows me to teach the fundamentals of sketching with a well-rounded approach.
My coursework in creative writing and film has enhanced my ability to convey stories and ideas visually, a crucial aspect of effective sketching.
