Liza Wu, NYC Professional Pianist/Vocal Coach/Performer/Music Director/Instructor- happy to help!

Welcome! I love teaching, music, and all things piano related! I've taught successful piano students for over 25 years and would love the opportunity to help more people love piano playing. I'm happy to work with you to reach your goals within the time you have, in our busy daily lives. I have built a career as a professional pianist/keyboardist/cathedral organist in NYC, and have performed all over the city, country, and world, with many well known classical performers (pls see bio), and most recently in Europe this past summer. I've also worked with Broadway shows, touring throughout North America (Columbia Artists Theatricals), TV/Film (SAG-AFTRA), and with pop/rock stars (Sony Developmental Artists). I have worked with students from Barnard/Columbia, NYU, the Professional Performing Arts School (NYC), Diller-Quaile School of Music, and School for Strings (NYC), as well as Interlochen Arts Camp. Please join me! I'm happy to teach regular weekly sessions, or consult for contests, auditions, performances, contests, and other projects. My expertise is in teaching how to learn music quickly, fluidly, and efficiently, so that one can learn to read and present music easily, especially to be facile enough to work with others! I'm currently accepting new (young or young-at-heart), committed students until my schedule sets in February. Generally I schedule far in advance, and am happy to work with your schedule. I am flexible, so please do let me know what works for you, and we will figure it out. Thanks, and hope to see you soon!

Berklee College of Music

I am a graduate of the Berklee College of Music 2023 with a BA in Music Business. I have a deep passion for music and writing songs, as well as teaching and supporting families. My experience areas include music theory, composition, music history, piano, guitar and vocal technique/ performance, songwriting, harmonic ear training and audio engineering. As well as previously mentioned music skills, I also have experience with marketing, licensing, publishing and artist management, as well as supporting developing artists find their voice and handle the pressures that come with developing in the modern day music industry. My priority as an instructor is to provide the best experience possible in a relaxed setting to help the student build confidence, have a great foundation to build musicianship and form life long memories, finding joy, peace and healing in the creation and participating in music as a life long process. My mission as an instructor is to be a guide on the side, instilling in students proper technique, while more importantly gently assisting them to find their own artistry and discover who they truly are through song, as well as supporting them with their own personal goals. Piano was my first instrument and holds a special place in my heart. I like making piano lessons fun and worthwhile for all ages and current level, whether student ranges from beginner to advanced. I'm a great instructor for young children and introducing them to their first instrument lessons as well as helping more intermediate players with performance or learning to play their favorite songs.
