About
Hello! I began classical piano training at the age of 7. I developed a small repertoire and by the time I was 13 I was ready to quit. But then, through luck and good friends, I discovered theory, and ... everything changed. I learned scales and chords, which led to songs and improvisation, which led to composition and playing music with people, which catapulted me into my BA in music and my professional life as teacher and music producer, which I've been enjoying for the past decade. I teach all ages piano and audio production, and have produced music and worked with artists and publishers of all types, form Bruno Mars, to Cartoon Network, to Billboard Magazine and Discovery.
My goal is to give my students the same Eureka moment I had, that one can easily create and improvise original music; that it is within reach and incredibly fun. I believe Fun is Learning's favorite food and I encourage my students to search for and show me music they love and wish to learn, which we will use to reinforce theoretical concepts. I believe a strong foundation in Theory is key for this development, and I expose my students to organized games, exercises, song learning and performing, and theory, so that they may feel inspired and empowered to pursue musical interests however they choose.
I am a teacher, artist, audio producer, inventor and entrepreneur, with patents, products and businesses in the acoustical and fashion-accessory fields. I was born, and live in Brookllyn, New York, and I love to draw, hike, cook, play music with music players, watch movies and sleep!
Teaching is one of my favorite joys, and I hope you'll get in touch chat about your music and what you'd like to learn!read more
