I've been teaching Piano since 2003 when taught at a Massachusetts conservatory, and Home-studio. I'm a complete musician who loves to combine Music theory, Music history and knowledge of styles, with a refined technique and sight-reading.abilities. I love teaching from the very beginning, but love helping intermediates to get to higher levels. Successful in person experience from ages 4/5 yr old, elementary aged, teens, adults, senior beginners and amateurs. I've coached college students on Baroque interpretation, Alexander Technique directions (fixing techniques) and sight-reading. Online Piano for kids may need dedicated parental help in the beginning, for understanding the screen (mirror) and instruction, organizing material, learning how to share. Even to older ages, like nine or 10. Instruction may be combined between el. keyboard and piano, or start on el. keyboard, up to a certain level (I mean, referring to the instrument "I'll be using to teach", so that it is best visible and understood by the student). I started my interest in learning music by playing violin in elementary school. As a young kid, learning how the piano worked interested me, so I began to learn a little bit from my Grandma. Even though I did not play piano with both hands when I was younger, I was eager to translate everything I learned on violin to piano. When I was in high school, I began to learn piano in both a private and class setting. I took a group piano class when I was a high school student at Long Beach City College during the summer. A few years later, I took all group piano classes at Long Beach City College. I started teaching beginning piano to young students six months ago. As a piano teacher, I focus on making sure my students understand where the notes are on the piano, know all the notes on the treble and bass staff, know how to follow instructions based on what the music is asking them to do, be able to understand how rhythms work, and learn how to play on beat with a metronome. I make sure they understand all of these concepts, so going through a longer piece is not as overwhelming.

Hi everyone! My name is Manqi. I started to learn the piano when I was four years old. I graduated college with a degree in music, focusing on piano performance. Over the years, I have worked as a pianist and organist at my church where I regularly perform, as the piano accompanist for voice class, and for different instrumentalists. I also regularly performed solo in studio recitals and master classes. I recently had my solo senior recital in May when I played the music of Bach, Schubert, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, and Ravel. I also actively participate in chamber music. My piano quartet recently performed Mozart's piano quartet in G minor. I have also worked with kids in many age groups and absolutely loved it!
