I studied various elements of classical piano- namely performance, music theory, and music history- under Alisa Aslanyan for the next thirteen years. When I was in high school, I began to learn piano in both a private and class setting. I took a group piano class when I was a high school student at Long Beach City College during the summer. A few years later, I took all group piano classes at Long Beach City College. I started teaching beginning piano to young students six months ago. As a piano teacher, I focus on making sure my students understand where the notes are on the piano, know all the notes on the treble and bass staff, know how to follow instructions based on what the music is asking them to do, be able to understand how rhythms work, and learn how to play on beat with a metronome. I make sure they understand all of these concepts, so going through a longer piece is not as overwhelming.
