Hi! My name is Zoe Atlas. I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I then moved up to Monterey and Santa Cruz where I attended California State University Monterey Bay and received my BA in Humanities a... nd Communication with a concentration in Creative Writing Social Action. I am a voracious reader and passionate poet/writer and also a bit of a theater nerd. I love to be in the creative flow in whatever shape it takes for the mood and environment. I am a lifelong classically trained pianist, horsewoman, athlete, and cook. I feel most at home where flowing water meets big trees meets the sea--Santa Cruz was marvelous for this. I am a devoted mother and I love working with and encouraging growth in kids of all ages. I I have taught everything from piano lessons, tutoring sessions for elementary and middle school aged kids struggling with math and English, high school writing, college essay, university level environmental communications, and university poetry workshops. My tutoring style is empathetic and thorough--I seek to understand each student's learning and communication style so I can best nurture a holistic understanding of what we are working on and guide students to build resources and strategies suited to their unique needs.read more
