I've been playing piano for 20 years, and have over a decade of experience performing and producing music for commercial media. My industry requires a deep understanding of music and its effect, especially within the context of video and film, and so I make sure my students develop a strong foundation of theory, so that they may quickly understand, communicate, create, improvise and pursue their own music independently. My years of classical training has informed the ways I teach healthy practice patterns, exercises and posture, while my years of theoretical study, improvisation and digital music production has inspired the ways I teach music creation and recording.
I will teach you how the piano works, I will teach you theory, I will show you how to create music and improvise, and you will learn quickly. My goal is to show you, over and over, that you can create and improvise your own original music, easily.
