I have been developing games and mods for 7 years, 11 if you include Scratch projects. I know how to make a solid foundation for games, expand games without sacrificing performance, and add in systems to make development as easy as possible. From creating a tile system to collision to enemy behaviour and more, I've done just about everything a game needs.
My framework of choice is FNA/MonoGame using C#, which gives you a lot of freedom to make what you want, how you want it. This course will include the basics of both FNA/MonoGame and C# if needed as well.
Personally, I find that the framework of a project is the hardest thing to do, excluding polish. It's a very big mountain to climb, especially for beginners who might struggle in knowing what to do and where to go. I know I did. So, I'll make sure to teach, explain and showcase these major steps in making a game (or mod). Once you get that ball rolling, it is deeply motivating!
