Using flashcards is an effective way to introduce concepts that interest them like letters, colors, shapes, numbers, counting, body parts, toys, food, and family, as they develop their Tagalog vocabulary. It is a great memorization tool that can also be utilized to practice and review the weekly vocabulary words at home. I love to incorporate props, puppets, songs, music, and movement to keep the learners engaged and to help them understand the lessons better. I strongly believe that children learn best through play so I will also incorporate interactive games and art into our lessons. Please note that the themed lessons may run longer than a week depending on the learners' level of understanding. During class, children will be encouraged to participate in the discussion actively. Since this is a beginner class, children will not need to speak Tagalog throughout our learning time as I assume they speak little to no Tagalog. They are more than welcome to interact and communicate with me in English. I will teach them the words, phrases, and simple sentences to help them gain confidence in speaking Tagalog. My goal is to make learning fun and instill a lifelong love of learning! Please note that children do not need to know Tagalog to enroll in the class. All children ages 2 to 5 are welcome to join!
