About
Hi everyone, I’m Jack! I graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Neuroscience and a minor in Health in Society from the University of Chicago. Throughout high school and college, I realize... d that teaching my peers and classmates served as the best way for me to reinforce my own learning and understanding of the material. As a teaching assistant in an inquiry-based neurobiology course during my senior year of college, I emphasized the importance of an engaging and enjoyable learning environment tailored to each student’s needs. I bring this experience to my tutoring approach. I equip lesson plans based on individual needs and the student’s timeframe. By having students first craft their goals and objectives for a given lesson plan, I promote self-directed, active learning strategies crucial to successful studying.
As someone with a strong foundation in the sciences, I provide instruction across a variety of subjects including but not limited to, neuroscience, biochemistry, general chemistry, biology, physics, and math from the middle school level to the college level. I am very familiar with AP curricula, both SAT and ACT exams, and MCAT Biology/Biochemistry and Psychology/Sociology content. For both standardized test preparation and individual subjects, I can work with students individually and with small focus groups consisting of 5-10 students.
My goal is to ensure that students benefit as much as possible from my tutoring sessions. I always welcome suggestions from students and parents during sessions and am readily available to address questions and feedback. Please reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson!read more
