Brishana CollinsClinton Township, MIUndergraduate English Student at Wayne State University
Studying English after actively engaging in the STEM field gave me a new appreciation for literature and composition. In high school, my studies included AP Composition as well as other Accelerated English courses. In college, I am an active member of the Creative Writing organization.
I am currently working on completing a Bachelor of Arts in English. During this time, I am still continuously tutoring K-12 students in ELA and college students in essay writing, which includes sentence structure, punctuation and capitalization, outlines, proofreading, and proper MLA formatting. Additionally, I am highly proficient in grammar, phonics, parts of speech, reading comprehension, spelling, word study (homonyms, synonyms, antonyms, etc.), vocabulary, research (searching, evaluating, and organizing information), and reference skills (using a dictionary, thesaurus).
To ensure each individual student's needs are being fulfilled through the online sessions, I promise to evaluate every circumstance and adapt my teaching style and or lesson plans to ensure that the time we utilize is being spent productively.
