Alexis CrawfordAtlanta, GASpelman College Biology Graduate
With a Bachelor's degree in Biology earned at Spelman College in 2022, I am well-qualified to teach Biology.
My academic journey has been complemented by practical experiences that have enhanced my qualifications for teaching Biology. As an Undergraduate Summer Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University in 2021, I spent a significant amount of time conducting research and experiments in the field of Neurobiology. This experience not only deepened my knowledge of research methodologies but also improved my ability to construct clear and concise presentations of complex scientific concepts. In addition, my independent research at Spelman College in 2020 equipped me with valuable data collection and organization skills, which are essential for effective teaching. Moreover, my coursework and research interests extend beyond Biology to encompass various interdisciplinary subjects, such as Renewable Energy, Human Behavior and Psychology, and Environmental Science.
This diverse background allows me to offer a well-rounded and holistic approach to teaching Biology that connects it to broader scientific and sustainability principles. With a strong foundation in research, critical thinking, data analysis, communication, and project management, I am confident in my ability to engage and inspire students in the field of Biology and foster an understanding of the importance of sustainability in our changing world.
