I have been a prolific reader ever since I can remember and am well versed in literature ranging from classical Russian literature to Shakespeare. I have excelled in classed on Chaucer and British Lit... erature. I adore Beowulf, Tolstoy, Jane Eyre, and Charles Dickens. I can discuss Jane Austen's prolific social commentary and Hamlet's relevance in modern politics. Students would learn how Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights shaped the modern Byronic Hero and how Dostoyevsky's ideas about crime and justice shaped the way we view them today. Greetings! My name is Audrey! I am a student at the University of South Carolina School of Law and I have a BA in Government from Wofford College. I have been interested in and studying government si... nce high school and I have seen so many opportunities for students in government, in all different kinds of fields. I have interned for several years with the Solicitor's Office, which has allowed me to see these concepts in practice and to examine how they influence our day-to-day lives. I also love literature, and there's not much of my free time that isn't spent in a book. I love reading everything from Russian literature to Shakespeare and Jane Austen. Classical literature has shaped so many of our ideas and attitudes in modern society and I love exploring it! Anything you need help analyzing, I'm here to help! I think that there are many issues in the way schools approach these subjects which cause students to find them boring or uninteresting. My goal is to demonstrate how knowledge of these subjects can open up the world around us and help it to make just a little bit more sense than it did before by exploring why the world is the way it is, whether from a governmental standpoint or from explaining why society's attitudes are the way they are.
