I am an Academic All-American graduate of Queens University of Charlotte, where I earned a BA in Psychology, and concentrated on Business Marketing and Human Communications. I am currently in my 21st year as a certified teacher, teaching 9th grade English. Over the last 20 years, I have experience teaching grades K-12 as both a Special Education Teacher and a General Education teacher. While I have experience in a broad range of subjects, my passion lies in Literature, Writing and Reading Specialties. I have a proven track record of growing students in these areas. Hi, I'm Shonna, a native of North Carolina! I have been teaching for 21 years and strive off helping students grow to become lifelong learners. I am currently enrolled at Walden University pursuing ... an MS in Mental Health Counseling. I am now a 9th grade English teacher, but I have experience in grades K-12 in English and Biology. My favorite part of academic coaching is planning and writing essays. I love to help students develop essays and find their voice as a writer. Outside of teaching, I am the mother of two boys (20 and 10). I am also a Varsity Basketball Coach and former Volleyball Coach.
