Hi everyone, my name is Km

0:03

and I am a 19-year-old college student studying psychology.

0:07

Um, I live in Georgia at the moment.

0:09

Um, my tutoring experience is a lot with younger children.

0:14

Um, all the way back in third grade, I would go

0:17

to the younger grades, second grade, first grade

0:19

and read them books.

0:20

My favorite book was The Hungry Little Caterpillar.

0:23

Um, I am also a learning coach for my two youngest siblings,

0:27

age six and nine.

0:29

And 'cause they're homeschooled,

0:31

so a learning coach helps them with their work, stays on top

0:34

of it, sits in them with classes

0:35

and then assists them with any concepts

0:38

that they're struggling with.

0:39

Um, more recently, last year, over the summer,

0:42

I ended up picking up a tutoring volunteer position at a

0:46

small coding company called AI Go Learning

0:48

and I taught kids five through seven to, uh, code

0:53

with Scratch Junior.

0:54

So it's an a coding software that's like scratch,

0:57

but it's like the, the much simpler version of that.

1:00

So it gets them right into the basics of learning how

1:03

to code moving blocks

1:04

and how to make things move and stuff like that.

1:06

Um, as far as academically, I have always been, uh,

1:11

very academically capable.

1:13

Um, I graduated high school

1:15

with a 3.7 GPAI was also awarded the Academic

1:20

Excellence Award, which is just proficiency in all subjects.

1:23

And I currently have a 4.0 as, um,

1:27

my time in college right now.

1:28

Um, one thing I learned about learning, especially

1:32

after, uh, studying psychology so far

1:35

and learning about learning

1:36

and development is that learning just like a lot

1:39

of other things is a skill.

1:40

So it's not like you can't get better at learning.

1:43

So although there's a person who does well in school, yeah,

1:47

they're smart, but they are also just good at learning

1:49

and retaining information

1:50

and calling back that information when they need.

1:52

So it is never a moment where

1:55

somebody is smarter than another person

1:57

or a person is less smart

1:58

because they can always just get better at learning,

2:00

which is what I want to try to do on this platform.

2:05

Um, my preferred subjects are reading, writing.

2:07

I also love to teach chess as well.

2:09

Um, so I want to show people on this platform that

2:13

it's okay if you aren't particularly good at something.

2:17

Now that doesn't make you any less smart

2:20

and that is a skill just like anything else

2:22

that can be learned.

2:23

You just need time and focus

2:25

and the correct learning methods that are pertained to you.

2:27

So I really hope to start rolling with you guys.
