About
I am Joni Esquilona, Licensed Professional Teacher since 1997. I was born in the heart of Manila, in Quezon City, the National Capital Region of the Philippines, where Filipino/Tagalog is widely spoke... n. I grew up there and completed my education in this vibrant city.
In my free time, I explore Filipino culture through music and literature. I am passionate about playing the guitar, which helps me connect with Filipino music. I also enjoy organizing community events and connecting with diverse backgrounds.
Tutoring allows me to make a meaningful impact on my students' lives. I find joy in seeing my students progress and achieve their language goals. One-on-one interaction lets me tailor lessons to each student's needs, ensuring they receive the support and guidance they require.
My tutoring philosophy revolves around patience, personalization, and cultural integration. I believe language learning should be enjoyable and immersive. By incorporating Filipino culture, traditions, and history into my lessons, I provide a holistic learning experience. I adapt my teaching methods to suit each student's learning style, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident as they progress.
What sets me apart is my passion for the Filipino language and culture, combined with extensive teaching experience. As a native speaker with over five years of teaching experience, including four years at New Era University and one year of one-on-one tutoring with a Nigerian college student, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my lessons.
