My college essays (for both the Common App and QuestBridge) have gotten me into universities like Stanford, where I currently study English. In an email my admissions officer sent me, they noted that ... they were captivated by my love for writing shown in my essays. I have informally helped family friends and past classmates edit and revise their college essays, who have subsequently gotten into colleges like BU, Stanford, Pomona, and more. In high school, I also acted as a writing tutor for the last two years, where, though I didn't edit college essays, I edited vast amounts of essays for school. I also have extensive experience in creative writing. I've known that I wanted to be a writer since I was 13, and I've written and published more than a dozen short stories since then, some of which have also won awards. I think this experience in creative writing easily transfers to college essay writing. Structurally, I can offer feedback for making essays thematically cohesive and narratively interesting. Hi! I'm Emma :) I'm grew up in Xi'an, China, but I came to the States around seven years ago. I've always been passionate about reading, writing, and languages, and I've never once doubted that I wanted to do something else (though countless Stanford students have told me to take CS106A).
