Let's Learn Math and Physics Together

I interact with physics almost every day. Ever since high school, it's been my favorite subject. Physics is the study of nature. It could be very intriguing at times to find connections between different phenomena that didn't seem that related at the beginning. One of the most fascinating things about physics is that, in a sense, it unifies different phenomena under more general rules. During our sessions, I will share with you different applications and interesting demonstrations of the topics we study whenever possible. It really helps with internalizing the concepts. A particularly useful tool in studying physics is mathematics. They say math is the language of science; it substantially helps with narration and articulation of facts and rules in physics. Studying physics inevitably comes across mathematics. Depending on what class you are taking, what topics you are interested in learning more about, and to what extent, the math content used could be different. I always incorporate a brief review in my teaching to go over the necessary math concepts as needed. Practice makes perfection, and it is particularly important when learning physics. That said, I will try to present you with different ideas and examples on each topic while helping you figure them out, step by step, on your own. It helps with solidifying the concepts as well as developing problem solving skills. The more practice, the better. I have been tutoring physics to both adults and children for about 4 years now. I have tutored middle school science, high school physics, AP physics(1 and 2), AP physics B/C , as well as college physics(both Algebra based and calculus based). I love teaching physics and look forward to teaching it to more and more students. I would love to help you in your journey of learning physics. I think it would be so much fun.

Ivy-league Graduate student. Computer industry veteran passionate about teaching STEM

I love computer engineering, sciences in general and I love teaching as well. I work full-time as a Hardware Engineer designing complex Application-Specific-Integrated-Circuits (ASIC) GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) at a top computer technology company. In the past I tutored a couple of high-school students AP computer science, and I was a TA for a college-level computer graphics course (programming, algebra, geometry). I am passionate about what I do at work, and I enjoy spreading my passion and knowledge to younger folks as well. I want to inspire more students to become scientists and engineers. A few highlights about my background: -Minored in Math in college. Had excellent grades (at least A-). -800 out of 800 on SAT Math I, II, and AP Calculus. -Majored in Physics in college. Loves physics. -Native speaker of Mandarin Chinese. -Works in the Computer Engineering industry as a Hardware Engineer. "If you cannot explain it to others clearly, then you do not fully understand it." -- Albert Einstein. I believe it is very important to try to explain things from the students' perspective. My tutoring approach is to record the listen to my own explanations of key ideas and concepts, to see if my explanations are clear enough. Also I would collect feedbacks from my students and ask them to explain the concepts back to me to confirm that they have fully understood and grasped them. Feel free to consult me about computer engineering careers if you are interested!
