Previous Research Intern for Global Treks & Adventures LLC

I had recently graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a major in Conservation Biology and minors in Anthropology and Pan-African Studies. I also have obtained a certificate in Cultural Competencies. In June 2022, I was selected as a research intern by Global Treks & Adventures LLC to research Native Hawaiian culture, mythology, and societal structures. The internship was based in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawai'i. My primary responsibilities were to research the cultural, spiritual, and ecological significance of various land areas on the island including Mauna Kea and Kilauea. During my final two semesters of university, I had decided to take on yet another research project. I had focused my research on the cultural, spiritual, and ecological significance of the Florida Everglades in regards to the Seminole Tribe. During this research, I had the opportunity to interview the collections manager of the South Florida Archaeology Department through the Florida Museum of Natural History located in Gainesville, Florida. As part of my final requirement to obtain my degree, I was given the opportunity to study abroad in Honduras in June 2023. It was here that I had been given the opportunity to, once again, research the cultural, spiritual, and ecological significance of different land areas throughout Honduras. I had learned of how the land itself had changed over the years and how this change had altered the livelihoods of the Indigenous communities throughout Honduras. Throughout my studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, I had taken various Anthropology courses. I had studied various Indigenous cultural groups hailing from all parts of the world. My strong suits are Native American cultures. I had left Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a 3.8 GPA in my Anthropology minor, a 3.5 GPA in my Pan-African Studies minor, and a 4.0 GPA in my Cultural Competencies Certificate. I will be willing to provide transcripts if necessary.

AP biology & Biology Teacher

I am passionate about biology. I am interested in anything related to biology. Always dreamt to become either a medical doctor or researcher and with this aim went and worked hard to obtain my doctorate in Neuroscience. After leaving research for personal reasons enter the field of education and loved molding and facilitating the young minds in careers related to biology. Being a researcher in the field of biology I can bring my skills of looking at the biological concepts in an applied way, teach students to think analytically and in the context of the content. Although biology is content loaded with extensive vocabulary which can be challenging to young minds but by employing various approaches or instructional methodologies it is possible for students to overcome this obstacle and yearn to learn more in biology. I was a coach for the science Olympiad and Science Bowl teams and our team made it to the state level multiple times. I have also run several workshops as a executive committee member of the local PASSC organization. Was also selected to be a member of the committee in our state to rewrite the state standards for science. Till date have been invited as a AP Biology reader by the AP board. This allows me to get an insight on how to deliver the AP instruction and how to adapt lessons as and when needed. Teaching and tutoring students is a two-way traffic allowing for me to modulate my lessons to address the needs of students and lead into a engaged productive and meaningful learning.
