Currently, I am a Career Peer Mentor (CPM) at CMU’s Career Center, where I help freshmen and sophomo... res with resume reviews, cover letter creation, and career fair prep workshops. I have served 70+ students over my two years as a CPM and have even developed a mentoring relationship with some of the underclassmen. I have worked with students of all ages with subjects varying from elementary math skills to AP Calc... ulus and standardized test prep (primarily the SAT). My previous experience as a tutor at a tutoring center will make me an ideal candidate for this position. As an academic tutor, I worked with 20+ students one-on-one in varying academic subject areas and advised students in test-taking strategies and studying for exams. I mentored rising high school juniors and seniors by assisting five to ten students with college preparation sessions. Furthermore, I constructed specialized academic tutoring syllabi for group classes, which has helped me identify concepts that students tend to struggle with the most in order to customize their learning experience.read more
