Nathaniel SchollChicago, ILEnglish and Writing Tutor
At Northwestern University, I majored in social policy and minored in English- creative writing. Both of these programs were very writing intensive, and throughout the programs I was tasked with composing many essays; these ranged from academic essays on topics like Chicago's public transportation systems and social stratification, to personal, creative nonfiction essays, many of which I wrote about music. Overall, although I finished college strong altogether, I excelled the most in my writing-based projects, regardless of the discipline.
Upon graduating college, I have worked multiple education-related jobs, the most relevant being at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes. As a clinician, much of my job was teaching reading and writing skills, largely to students with learning disabilities. Near the end of my time in this position, I progressed to teaching accredited online high school English classes, where I would teach essay-writing techniques of varying styles, including expository and research papers. I am strong at breaking down big-picture concepts, as well as nitty-gritty proofreading, and I would love the opportunity to take my essay writing skills to Lessonpal.
