Alisa SheridanAmsterdam, NetherlandsStudent at the University of Amsterdam with a passion for writing
Throughout my life, I have consistently gravitated towards the art of Essay Writing. In high school, I completed my International A Levels in History, English Literature and Spanish, all of which have a strong focus on this art form. To further engage with this interest of mine, I worked as Editor-in-Chief of my school's literary journal, where I received journal entries from fellow students to then proofread, edit and publish.
During my last year of high school, I volunteered as a Spanish tutor to younger students. In this position, I prepared lessons on PPT and Google Slides and taught them to a small class on Zoom. This experience developed my communication skills and allowed me to familiarise myself with the role of a teacher.
I am currently studying Media and Culture at the University of Amsterdam and have written several papers over the course of the academic year. So far, I have been achieving high grades, including a 10/10 for my most recent thesis. The progress I have made has only deepened my passion and compelled me to begin writing a book of my own in my spare time, resuming my childhood dream of becoming an author.
