I studied Spanish formally in high school and throughout my tertiary education for a combined 4 years total. At my college of current enrollment, Carleton College, I passed the foreign language graduate requirement by taking a comprehensive language exam that demonstrated my ability to speak Spanish fluently. In addition, I have engaged in over 200 hours of Spanish-speaking volunteer work from 2018 to 2019 when I was a part of an auxiliary staff for a psychology free-practice in Los Angeles; that specialized in working with members of minority communities.
