Michelle JohnsonNorth Charleston, SCExperienced Educator, Writing & World History Expert
From my earliest years, I have had a passion for literature, poetry, and writing. My favorite classes were always English, as I enjoyed analyzing the text, looking for symbolism, sentence structure, and voice of the author. In high school, I found my passion in education and working with children. This passion led me to pursue a teaching career, in which I majored in middle grades education, with an emphasis on English Language Arts and Social Studies. I taught middle-level writing composition in regards to the use of primary and secondary sources, research papers, and text analysis for six years.
I have spent time working as a free-lance editor, and posses refined writing skills. I am currently a full time graduate student, in which I consistently receive A's on research papers, and high remarks regarding my intellectual, articulate, and detailed writing style.
I have previously taught for 6 years in middle schools, and ended my career to begin a graduate program full time. In my fifth year, I earned the title, Teacher of the Year. I have experience teaching all levels, including elementary, middle, high school, and adults. I am a warm, loving, and proactive planner. Combined, these characteristics allow me to create a learning environment conducive to building strong relationships, learning, and mastery.
