Rajah Patria SolimanQuezon City, Metro Manila, PhilippinesMaterials Engineer | University of the Philippines graduate | Math and Science Tutor
I am a Filipino, born, raised, and living in the Philippines. Tagalog is my mother tongue along with English. I have experience in teaching as an online ESL tutor.
I graduated from the University of the Philippines, one of the most prestigious state universities here in the Philippines.
I finished a total of 186 units in college as a Materials Engineering student. Nine (9) units were Filipino classes taught in Tagalog: Wika, Kultura, at Lipunan (Language, Culture, and Society), Kasaysayan ng Pilipinas (Philippine History, and The Life and Works of Jose Rizal (Our National Hero).
I also had three (3) units in Linguistics class. I know how to learn and teach the language and its structure (grammar, syntax, phonetics).
I'm a Materials Engineer by profession, but I love sharing my knowledge, culture, and what it means to be a Filipino with others more.
My mother would always say several beautiful and unfamiliar deep Tagalog words. That's how I fell in love with the Tagalog language more and joined the Filipino campus journalism for six (6) years in grade/elementary school until high school. I've been the Science Page Editor and Copyreader. I wrote and checked the grammar of articles in Tagalog. I've competed in several contests and won.
I'm proud Pinoy! Filipinos are warm, accommodating, and friendly. That's why I want to showcase the beauty of the language to people interested in it.
Learning the language is one of the keys to opening opportunities, great experiences, and friendships. I know what it feels like to study a new language because I've started to learn Mandarin.
And as they say, experience is the best teacher. That's why I love traveling. If you also like traveling, you can visit our country on your next vacation.
There are also a lot of Filipinos around the world, you can speak to them in their native language, too. The possibilities are endless!
So, book a class with me. Let's practice and achieve your language goals together!
