As the grade level is advanced so does the course material, requiring not only a more complex activities, but as well as repetition and implication of the rules into writing practice. Although, writing essays and paragraphs is a common activity that is done in high school, but throughout the tutoring sessions we mainly focus on utilizing reading methods in order to advance the writing the skills. Creating an extensive vocabulary list is seen as one of the activities that students can read and use the vocabularies by writing paragraphs in their daily journal. Reading grammatical errors and rules is not effective until used on day to day activities. High school English requires use of evidence to conduct in- depth literary analysis. Also, reasoning abilities is crucial since the student is required to synthesize ideas in a multiple texts. Some of the activities that can be helpful are using figurative language challenge, six word memoirs, the breakup letter, more importantly introducing the students to the Tattumm curriculum.
