Destiny GarnerPhiladelphia, PAArtist-Educator, Consultant
I combine my passion for art, education, and social justice to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences for my students. I design and implement curriculum that integrates various media, such as photography, graphic design, video, and animation, to foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. With the help of my colleagues and the school administration, I also organize and facilitate extracurricular activities and events that showcase the students' artistic talents and achievements.
My background in fashion and socially engaged art has shaped my approach to teaching and learning. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from Moore College of Art and Design, where I developed my skills in creative direction, material literacy, and textile exploration. I also gained valuable experience as a stylist and a receptionist in the apparel and fashion industry, where I worked with diverse clients, partners, and vendors. Through my education and work, I have learned to adapt to changing trends, communicate effectively, and collaborate with different stakeholders. My goal is to inspire and empower my students to express themselves, explore their interests, and pursue their dreams through creativity.
