About
I am a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a B.A in History. My work as a substitute teacher in many districts throughout Cape Cod has prepared me to cover a variety of subjects... in many different grades.
I have always had a passion for the humanities and social studies and their ever-increasing relevance in today’s culture. Your listed curriculum carries this point well. I thank you for its availability online to give prospectives insight.
Another factor is that brain based research tells us that students require a balanced approach in teaching. My skills would be most beneficial in addressing the present gap.
My Personal Education Philosophy consists of the following important points: every person in the world should be guaranteed the right to a proper education, regardless of any differences from accepted norms. Education should also be regardless of wealth, societal stature, or living area. Intelligence, wit, or initial understanding of subject is irrelevant. This is why it is important that while education should be equally accessible to those with special education needs, it is often true that such persons require additional accommodations. which should be readily accessible, again regardless of financial situations. A good example of this is speech therapy classes intended to teach deaf children and their parents the ability to sign. It was described as costing a great deal of money, having no opportunity for financial aid, and requiring long hours every day. Such an important teaching resource designed to properly integrate members into society should be more accessible.
My approach to learning is proper consolation with any student requiring such aid or services. Past students have described my teaching methods as approachable, as a rejection of rote memorization to emphasize how history and other related subjects can have personal meaning to them, as well as a particularly effective take on osmosis.read more
