Aiden GardePhoenix, AZChess Coach
I have played chess for over 5 years, and I have coached chess for over 3 years. Ever since I started playing chess in my sophomore year of high school, I have been immersed in the game. Most of my experience playing thousands of games of chess comes from online play, but I have also played in dozens of competitive over-the-board tournaments. On lichess.org, my all-time high classical rating is over 2000, and my all-time high puzzle rating is over 2600.
While playing and enjoying chess, I also began teaching chess to others in high school. I later practiced chess coaching online and in person, and I have helped many students learn and improve their chess skills. I make sure that my lessons are fun and engaging, and that my students can participate in the discussion as much as they need. In other words, instead of "talking at" my students, I talk with them!
During our lessons, we will mostly focus on game analysis. We will talk about your games, positions that you had trouble with, and what you can take away from them to improve for the future. I will often ask you to describe your thought process so that we can figure out why mistakes are made, and also to ensure that good moves are played for the right reasons.
If you want easygoing, fun chess lessons that will help you on your chess improvement journey, then consider giving me a try as your chess coach!
