I have a strong academic background in AP Chemistry and General Chemistry, earning top grades and demonstrating a deep conceptual understanding of chemical principles. My coursework has covered stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, acid-base chemistry, electrochemistry, and organic chemistry fundamentals—all of which are crucial for excelling in high school and AP Chemistry. I have also tutored my peers throughout my Chemistry courses, helping them understand complex topics, balance chemical equations, and apply problem-solving techniques to laboratory and real-world scenarios. I focus on breaking down difficult concepts into simple, intuitive steps using visual aids, mnemonic devices, and hands-on problem-solving approaches. Additionally, my strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and biology allows me to connect chemistry to broader scientific concepts, making learning more engaging and applicable. My test-taking strategies and AP exam preparation techniques ensure that students not only grasp the material but also know how to approach multiple-choice and free-response questions effectively. Whether you need help with fundamentals, lab analysis, or AP-level problem-solving, I will personalize lessons to fit your learning style and academic goals. My goal is to make chemistry feel approachable and logical, helping you gain confidence and achieve top scores in your class and exams.

Ph.D. Chemistry Tutor

I have a natural aptitude for chemistry and an innate ability to make complex concepts accessible for most anyone. I was selected as a tutor for the Valdosta State University Chemistry department due to my professors seeing me excelling at chemistry and helping fellow students to do the same. I taught one year of high school science after graduating with my BS and enjoyed being in the classroom. The experience of watching students who thought science was boring become fascinated by what the were learning was especially rewarding. I left the classroom to continue my own education and entered the graduate program at Auburn University. After a year of teaching freshman chemistry laboratory classes, I was selected to teach senior inorganic laboratory classes due, again, to my mastery of the subject and the ability to make it accessible to young learners. I continued to tutor throughout my graduate and post-doctoral career before leaving science to start a patient advocacy organization for families affected by hereditary colon cancer. I again found myself explaining complex medical terms and surgical procedures to lay people and eventually led the development of patient-friendly educational resources. Most recently, I worked as a subject matter expert for the Electric Power Research Institute, again developing chemistry educational resources for new employees. I truly feel it is a gift to be able to help learners understand the complex field of chemistry and hope to be able to share that gift with you.
