I graduated Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, cum laude at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, and also Master of Sciences in Chemistry at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. I also received professional certificates in Advanced Chemistry at the University of Kentucky (USA); in Teaching in University Science Laboratories (Developing Best Practice) at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands); in Sustainability and Climate Change, University of Edinburgh (United Kingdom); and in Teaching and Learning with Modern ICTs at the University of the Philippines-Open University. I’d been teaching general chemistry and university chemistry, organic chemistry, environmental chemistry, pollution chemistry, pesticide chemistry, biochemistry courses at the Institute of Chemistry, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) for 14 years. I also taught high school chemistry and algebra in the Maquiling School, Inc. for a year. I have been involved in tutoring chemistry, algebra, English as second language and Tagalog passionately and patiently for almost two decades, where I gained positive feedback from students and their parents. I teach my students to learn from the heart.
I became the Head of Smart-Functional Biomaterials Research Laboratory. I have published 38 chemistry-related research papers in international and national journals and conference proceedings. My research projects focused on organic chemistry, allelopathy, agricultural chemistry, agriculture, weed chemistry, , natural products chemistry, environmental chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, pesticide chemistry, and nanotechnology.
I was awarded the 2018 Outstanding Researcher, College of Arts and Sciences, University of the Philippines Los Baños, and 2016 Outstanding Faculty, College of Arts and Sciences, University of the Philippines Los Baños.
I am a lifetime member of Kapisanang Kimika ng Pilipinas and member of UPLB Natural Products Research.
