Understanding the majesty of Art is no small task. Memorizing color theory is one thing, but grasping and contextualizing artistic movements with the styles they are influenced by is another challenge.
I am passionate about both learning, practicing, and teaching about Art Theory because of my background in 2D and 3D arts as well as Art History.
In addition to continuously practicing my own art (including pen/ink, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, jewelry making, collage, hand building ceramics, structural and sculptural woodworking and metalworking, graphic design, and digital art, I have attended a number of art-focused academic programs. Two of these include a pre-college summer residency for the BIMA Visual Art Program at Brandeis College in Waltham, MA, and I recently earned a BFA from the University of Arizona in Art and Visual Culture Education where I expanded my art practice while earning my teaching certification (and graduated Summa Cum Laude).
During this time, I extensively learned about (and taught) about Art theory through my studio classes. The more you learn about the topic, the more you see connections in the art world and what yields “good art”.
