Lindsay Eller
Mount Holly, VT

Creative Arts Mentor

I have a BA in Studio Art, with an emphasis in Drawing and Painting. I work as a professional mixed media artist under the name, Linden Eller. As an educator, I have experience teaching a wide range of ages, from early childhood to adults. I taught as a full time preschool and kindergarten teacher in Japan from 2017 - 2018, and taught remotely for Bilin Academy, which primarily works with children in China integrating immersive English lessons with drawing. Most recently, from 2020-2023, I worked for a small art studio in Manhattan, teaching online kids, teens, and adults in drawing, painting, and mixed media. I wrote highly engaging curriculum, including social emotional learning components, art history aspects, specific art techniques and principles, and step by step projects. I now work independently as a teaching artist. I am fiercely passionate about promoting creativity, and am always seeking out meaningful ways to pass on my knowledge and skills. My teaching philosophy is toI offer to my students armfuls of techniques, warmth, honest feedback, and an invitation to fully embrace the benefits of the creative process. I can guide students in a wide spectrum of mediums and styles, included drawing, realism, impressionism, illustration (including Procreate), and painting in acrylics and watercolors. However, my speciality and passion is in collage, mixed media, art journaling, intuitive painting, and abstraction. Alongside technical goals, I consider teaching similar to a mentorship, helping students to develop their own visual language and move through the hurdles that appear in the creative process, giving one confidence and inspiration.

Sage Ballard De La Bastida
New York, NY

Arts Educator | Graphic Designer | Artist

I am an independent graphic and web designer and multi-disciplinary artist with a BFA in Studio Art and an MA in Museum Studies, both from New York University. Going into college, I received a full-tuition merit scholarship for my art portfolio that primarily focused on 2D art practices, such as drawing, painting, collage, digital art, and drawing and painting from life. During my undergraduate studies, I dove into various 2D, 3D, and 4D art practices, such as screen printing, etching, ceramics, mold-making, wood-work, welding, plaster, oil painting, photography, and time-based art. I took advanced courses in drawing, printmaking, and sculpture where I explored the intersections of Latinx protest and politics, gender and sexuality studies, and art theory. My senior year of college, I took graduate courses in Social Praxis Art while participating in the competitive Senior Honors Studio program. When I wasn't studying or working on my art, I curated and coordinated on-campus exhibitions, tutoried my classmates in working from still/live models and color theory, and worked at as a Studio Monitor at the NYU Print Studio. Over the last few years, I have worked as the Lead Art Teacher and Arts Coordinator for the Boys' Club of NY, an Exhibition Educator at the Climate Museum, Substitute Teacher in the NYC public school system, and as a Web Designer and Contributer for the Museum of Transgender Hirstory & Art.
