I am a computer science major at the University of North Florida, and in the Fall of 2024, I will be graduating with a bachelor's degree. Being a computer science major means taking more advanced math subjects such as Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Linear Algebra, and other high-level math courses. I've scored proficiently in these classes, earning As in these courses minus Calculus 2, in which I earned a B. I am passionate about teaching this subject because I feel that in order to succeed in higher-level math courses, having a good understanding of Algebra is a necessity to help you perform well. It is the first math class that will test a student and give them a clue of what they will be facing when their education proceeds. I also just like teaching the subject as I've always loved doing Algebra. In my earlier years of education, I used to hate math and never really enjoyed doing it. Algebra was the first math subject that gave me genuine enjoyment and allowed me to overcome my hatred for mathematics. I loved it so much that I remember having discussions with my peers about certain problems, different ways of doing them, etc. I did very well in the class, earning one of the highest scores on the final in my class. My proficiency in the subject was great enough that my other classmates would come to me to ask for assistance when they struggled with their problems. I always loved helping, and sometimes, my simplified way of teaching the topic would my classmates truly understand it. My goal is to not only help students understand Algebra better but to also instill a level of respect and understanding of Algebra and math in general.

11th grader | STEM Enthusiast | Shadowing Assistant at UMMC | Experienced EMT & Tutor|

I have a strong academic foundation in Algebra 1 and Algebra 2, earning top grades in Gifted & Talented (G/T) courses while mastering key algebraic concepts. My coursework has covered linear and quadratic functions, polynomial operations, exponential and logarithmic equations, systems of equations, and advanced problem-solving techniques, all of which are essential for success in higher-level math courses. Beyond my own success, I have tutored peers in Algebra 1 and 2, helping them build confidence in solving equations, understanding function behavior, and applying algebra to real-world scenarios. I focus on breaking down complex problems into simple, logical steps, ensuring that students fully understand the "why" behind mathematical rules instead of just memorizing formulas. My strong background in Precalculus and AP Calculus allows me to show how algebra serves as the foundation for advanced math, helping students see the bigger picture and develop strong problem-solving skills. I also provide test-taking strategies, step-by-step explanations, and customized practice problems to help students improve their accuracy and speed. Whether you’re struggling with factoring polynomials, graphing equations, solving word problems, or preparing for exams, I will tailor lessons to fit your learning style. My goal is to make Algebra approachable, engaging, and easy to master so you can excel in your coursework and future math classes!
