As a college student myself, I have significantly struggled during my time in college. I followed the belief that if I did everything by myself, I would triumph over my hardships. Well, it is safe to ... say that I was dead wrong! Asking for help in college is the greatest experience for me. It is the sole reason why I am succeeding in my classes, receiving grades nothing below Bs, and As, and overall, accomplishing things during my time in college. I currently serve as a Freshman Mentor, a program my university offers where upperclassmen will teach 1-2 freshmen per academic semester. I dedicate portions of time to check-in and guide my freshmen to ensure that they succeed as well. I want them to know that they are supported and encouraged throughout their college experience. I greatly encourage them to pursue their careers and offered many resources and personal stories to help guide them. My main goal is to remind them that asking for help will not hurt. Hello, hello! I am Quynh or "Angel" as others call me, and I am a University student at the University of Texas at Dallas studying Arts, Humanities, and Technology along with a Games and Animation con... centration! I have been tutoring for at least 2 years now regarding numerous subjects such as English/Reading, U.S history, 3D modeling, Texturing, and college preparation. I serve as a freshman mentor at my university, which allowed me access to numerous students who require assistance in my department. I noticed many students in our labs struggle in silence as they stare at the computer screen, unsure of where to go with their assignments. I would offer my assistance to them, and if they accepted, I would help them for however long they need me to be there. Freshman years tend to be the most difficult, especially when you are fresh out of high school. Even during your secondary years, college seems like a pressuring thought; however, there are always people willing to support and guide you in your decisions. I am passionate about 3D graphics such as Maya 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, and Unity environment building. I love all things creative, especially writing! I enjoy studying history as well, particularly U.S. history, the American Revolution, and major wars after the Civil War. To be honest, these were courses I struggled severely on in the past; however, I have learned to ask for help and accept assistance.
