The piano teachers I had when I was growing up placed a strong emphasis on music theory and that helped spark my interest in the subject. During my years in college, I've enjoyed digging in deeper to the various aspects of music theory and ear training. When I taught these subjects at the college level, I enjoyed opportunities to work with students one-on-one to meet them where they were at and reinforce the concepts taught in class.
